November 14th through the 18th is National Homeless and Hunger Awareness Week. Back on My Feet (BoMF) is excited to be launching its first nation-wide campaign during this week to raise its first $1 million from a single campaign as well as to promote social change around the perception of homelessness. We hope you'll be one of our 200,000 pairs of feet helping us achieve this goal, which will help 500 individuals go from a life of dependency to self-sufficiency. Being a part of BoMF's national Sneaker Week is easy. All you need to do is sign your company up to participate and encourage your employees to wear sneakers to work for a $5 donation to the organization. Spooktacular Bonelli - Spooktacular Los Angeles is at Bonelli Park on October 18, 2015! The course immerses the runner in a beautiful setting, featuring panoramic views of Bonelli Lake and lush greenery. Events offered are half marathon, 10k, 5k and kid’s dash for 10 and under. The half marathon and 10k routes are a combination road race and adventure run with varied terrain including pavement, gravel and even a narrow bridge over a low creek, a favorite of past athletes. The course is mostly flat but has some elevation on the 10k and half marathon routes. The grassy knolls of the West Picnic Valley are the place to be after the race with refreshments and exhibitors. ALL finishers, even the wee ones in strollers and the kid’s dash, earn a Day of the Dead theme sugar skull medal. Half marathon medals are larger and dangle from 1 1/2" custom colorful ribbon. Tech shirts for half marathon and 5k/10k participants receive t shirts. Costume contest and prizes. Age Division medals 1, 2, 3 in half marathon, 10k and 5k races. Chip timed. Because runners like to do good deeds, we are collecting toiletry items and breakfast cereal for the San Gabriel Valley Coalition for the Homeless.
